A New Chapter: From Mail Routes to Music Roads

It’s been a little while since I last checked in here, and for good reason — life has been beautifully full, a little bit wild, and completely transformative.
Over the past few months, I made a trip back home to Scotland with Shannon to surprise my parents. Walking through familiar streets, revisiting old favorite spots, and soaking in the landscapes that first shaped my love of music was deeply grounding and incredibly inspiring. There’s something about being back where it all began — the sounds, the stories, the sense of history — that reminds you who you are and why you started.
Not long after returning to Maine, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life.
After years of balancing early mornings on my mail route with late nights playing music, I have officially retired from the U.S. Postal Service to focus on music full time. Being a mailman was never just a job — it connected me to my community in a really meaningful way — but music has always been the constant pull. The thing I’d rush toward at the end of every day. The thing that never stopped calling.
Now, I’m answering that call.
I'm excited to share this recent feature that was done on WCSH, Maine's local TV station:
To mark this new chapter, I’ve just released my newest original single, “Waster.”
This song came together during a season of reflection — about change, about risk, about letting go of the safe and familiar in favor of something that feels more honest. It carries a bit of grit, a bit of humor, and a whole lot of heart, and it feels like the right song to share right now.
Looking ahead, I’m more excited than ever about what’s to come — more shows, more original music, and more time to fully lean into this life I love. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who’s supported me along the way — whether you came out to a gig, streamed a song, or simply stopped me on my mail route to say hello.
Thanks for sticking with me through the quiet moments. There’s plenty more music on the way.
Cheers!
— Ross
